Northern France is full of wonderful historic towns with black and white buildings and floral balconies; the area is rich in culture, food and wine and has some excellent hotels. A hotel price comparison site will help you find the best deals, but if need some advice the Provins hotels or the ancient Eguisheim hotels certainly come highly recommended.
Eguisheim
The traditional ‘burg’ or village of Eguisheim is adjacent to the border with Germany in Alsace and is thought of as the epicentre of the much revered Alsatian wine region. The narrow streets are filled with crooked half timbered buildings in a wonderful mix of French and German styles, which makes for some very beautiful vacation photographs.
